Well I think you mean SWELLING and not smelling, so I am going with that. Ice packs are great or even frozen peas! It's a natural way to reduce swelling. Before taking any meds, even OTC drugs, ask your doctor. You don't want them to react badly with anything you are currently on! I'm guessing you mean swelling of the eyes, etc. That would be ice packs. Medication or cream could get into the membranes and make the matter worse..

Since i don't know what surgery you had, try ice:


1] put bag of frozen veggies in a ziploc bag [ leavebag on to re-freeze so you don't eat later ]


2] wrap in paper towel or dish towel


3] do 20 minutes on, 20 min off; 20 on, etc.


If no better in AM, call doctor.
